This couple wanted the Reverse Mortgage to give them the option of paying or not paying the monthly principal and interest they still owe on their home. They also used a part of the Line of Credit to pay off a high interest credit card. There is still more money in their Line of Credit, if they ever choose to use it. They are paying their insurance and home owners taxes every month.
A single woman set up the Reverse Mortgage in case she ever needed money from her Line of Credit. She is in her mid 60’s and decided to do it now, while she is healthy, both mentally and physically. It is much easier to set it up early, when a person is healthy, than later if they have physical or mental challenges. There are times when physical challenges make it harder to make repairs to the house if needed prior to the appraisal. Mental challenges can take the form of forgetting where impor tant paperwork may be.
A single gentleman was having trouble getting by on social security. We set up his Reverse Mortgage to give him a substantial check every month, for the rest of his life!
